Could just be me but Woody Allen, Martin Scorsese and Pedro Almodóvar are way in the red to come out in defense of Roman Polanski.
Yeah he's a dialed in filmmaker but the only reason I can see why Roman has been clapped in irons after thirty years of walking abroad is because of one person - Roman Polanski.
I remember about a year ago he tried to have the charges dropped from Europe and when the judge told him he had to come to the US to face the music, Roman balked at the idea. This backdoor coup attempt would tend to piss off the US Justice Department a little bit. Knowing Roman, they naturally decided to nab him in a moment of fugitive glory - the film festival in Switzerland.
As for Allen, Scorsese and that other superstar, I really don't think you want to jump in the same moral carpool as a guy who pleaded guilty to drugging and sodomizing a 13 year old girl.
